- 1944 K4 International Truck,
Registration Number H 58897, was obtained by the North Canterbury Electric Power
Board in 1944 and used by them until November 1960, when it was purchased by the
Rangiora County Council for £150.0.0. The vehicle (a flat deck truck) was first
equipped with a temporary tank and later a permanent tank and lockers and a
front mounted pump. This vehicle was housed at the Woodend Garage and was
available for firefighting as a water tanker from 15th December 1960 until late
1967, the present whereabouts is unknown.

No DV 3280 Manufactured
by the Ford Motor Company, Windsor - Canada. Model was a F7 with a special
logging chassis. It weighed 8 ton 10 cwt unladen and had a maximum weight of 18
tons. A Colmoco pump - rated at 33l/sec - Tank capacity 2270 litres.
- This vehicle was imported into New Zealand in 1954 by the Ministry of
Defence. First registered on the 8th September 1954 and was stationed at RNZAF
station Wigram # 80 until 22nd April 1967 when it was sold to Mr Keith Wakeman of
Kaiapoi. It was then purchased by the Rangiora County Council on 18th May 1967,
for £450.0.0 and transferred to the Rangiora Urban Fire Authority on 28th June
1974. It was transfered to the New Zealand Fire Service Commission on 10th
August 1976, and disposed of by them on 28th July 1980 to
William John Judson
(ex Brigade Member) of
Woodend. At present the vehicle has been restored and is
still in working order. The first call this vehicle attended as Woodend 1 was at
a property fire at Kariatia's property Greens Road Tuahiwi on 27 August
1967

- (5.25
tons). Gwynne Pump rated at 38 l/sec and Tank capacity 900 litres.
- First registered in New Zealand at Rangiora on 20th October 1960 in the
name of the Rangiora Urban Fire Authority. Used by the Rangiora Volunteer Fire
Brigade until December 1979. Taken over by the New Zealand Fire Service
Commission on 1st April 1976. In December 1979 it was transfered to the Woodend
Auxiliary Fire Brigade. In December 1982 it was transfered to Waipara Volunteer
Fire Brigade. At the present time it is in private ownership with the Rangiora
Volunteer Fire Brigade

Zealand at Kaiapoi on 14th July 1970, in the name of Kaiapoi Fire Board. Used by
the Kaiapoi Volunteer Fire Brigade until December 1982. Taken over by the New
Zealand Fire Service Commission on 1st April 1976. In December 1982, it was
transfered to Woodend Auxiliary Fire Brigade. In 1988
it
was transfered to Wakefield ??

Registration No. NP 3740. First registered in Christchurch May 1988.
Darley HM500 Pump rated at 30l/sec and tank capacity 2000 litres.This vehicle
was the 5th 6/1 appliance registered to the New Zealand Fire Service. It saw
service at Woodend Auxiliary Fire Brigade until September 1993 when it was
transfered to Little River Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Registration
SA 8786. First registered at Christchurch in July 1993. Darley HM500 pump
rated at 30l/s. Tank capacity 2000 litres. This vehicle was
transfered to the Woodend Volunteer Fire Brigade in July 1993 and continued
there until transfered to Transalpine Area as a spare relief Appliance.

- 1958 Series 1 SWB Landrover
Registration No: EM 537 This vehicle is owned by the Waimakariri District Council but operated by the
Woodend Volunteer Fire Brigade. This vehicle is fitted with a ump pump. It was operated by the Brigade from September 1988 until August 1991.
Currently allocated to Waikuku Volunteer Rural Fire Force. Not much history is
known about this vehicle except when the Brigade stripped it down for repainting
Ruatoria Volunteer Fire Brigade was underneath layers of paint. It
also served in Waihi, Athentree dates still to be found.
