DIAL 111 FOR FIRE SERVICE

 
The Woodend Fire Station is manned by Volunteers and as such the station is not manned 24hours a day
 
Mission Statement :
To reduce the incidence and consequence of fire and to provide professional response to other emergencies
 
Vision:
Working with communities to protect what they value

The Fire Service will respond to anything where our equipment and human resources can provide assistance to protect life and property from damage by fire or other emergencies.

What are we equipped to do?

Respond quickly to:

* Fires in urban and rural areas

* Hazardous materials spills, leaks, fires

* Flammable liquid/gases spills, leaks or fires

* Extrication of people trapped in motor vehicles, machinery, trenches or buildings

* Rescue of people from any situation where they require assistance or where our equipment and/or expertise could help (includes animal rescue)

* First aid assistance (note: always call an ambulance first for a medical emergency)

* Storm damage such as damaged roofs, flooding, lightning strikes

* Water removal to prevent threat to life or damage to property

* Remember ! If you have an emergency of any sort and you are not sure who to call, ring 111, and ask for the Fire Service.
We can notify any other emergency services if required, and will respond the nearest firefighters plus any specialist equipment that may be needed.
